  • Cook’s Toy Drive

    Dear Academy Families,

This year we have the opportunity to participate in a toy drive for children (and their siblings) who may be spending this holiday season in the hospital. The Academy has made arrangements for the new and unwrapped toys to be taken to Cook Children’s Hospital in order to provide a Christmas for those that otherwise may not have that chance. Should you choose to participate, please know that all items must be new. This is important as the children are ill and could be more susceptible to germs. Please leave the item unwrapped as that will give Cooks the ability to match the gift with the child. Please refrain from purchasing items that could be perceived as violent (guns, swords, bows, arrows, etc.) Please know that latex balloons, candy and other food items cannot be accepted. Not only are toys desired, basic toiletry items such as travel size deodorant and travel sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash are also needed. Infant items such as rattles and handheld toys, Play-Doh and Sharpies could be used. Adult coloring books, ear buds, board (and card) games would be appreciated for older children. If you are able to participate, we will begin taking donations Monday, December 12, 2016 through Friday, December 16 (at 11:00).

Attached is the “ Holiday Wish List” detailing what they are in need of, and items that are highlighted are their greatest need. Thank you to our wonderful Academy family for recognizing this need and asking for our participation! We are sure to put a smile on children’s faces this holiday season!

  • BrightBytes Survey

Hello Parents & Guardians of BISD 3rd-12th grade students,

Burleson ISD is partnering with BrightBytes, an educational software company, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning. The information gathered helps us to make improvements to our District Technology Plan, apply for grants, and create opportunities for our students. For that reason, we are reaching out to ask you to take part in the questionnaire. Your participation is essential in helping us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in your students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy.

Please follow the link below to take this brief survey about technology use, and thank you for your continued support. the survey should take approximately 10 minutes.

The deadline to take the survey is Friday, November 18th at midnight.

We’d also like our students to have an opportunity to take the survey. If your student has already filled out the survey at school, there’s no need for them to do it a second time.

    https://sites.google.com/bisdmail.net/brightbytes

If you are a BISD teacher AND the parent of a BISD student, you may take the survey under both roles. Please complete the teacher survey for YOUR campus, and the parent survey for your students campus. Thank you!
